Top Seven Tips for an Intuitive Living Kick Start

There is no such thing as quick and easy feng shui.  For feng shui to be most effective it should be carefully considered and designed for each person separately.  That is why Intuitive Living is not limited to feng shui.  However I am often asked in passing at cocktail parties (usually immediately after popping an hors d’oeuvre in my mouth), “What is a quick tip you can give me to get started with Intuitive Living?”  Below are the top seven tips I would suggest for a push in the right direction.  Use only what works for you, and only where you need it.

1. Live surrounded by what you love, whether that be people, places or things. When you focus on this and surround yourself with only those people or items that you truly love, you will find anger, sadness, judgment and discord fall away.

2. If you are not sleeping well or your love life is not all that you want it to be take a careful look at your bedroom. Does it have exercise equipment, computer, work files, a tv? If so remove these items or cover them and things should improve.

3. When you consider your home to improve energy do not ignore areas that may seem hidden. The old saying: 'out of sight, out of mind' does not apply to feng shui.  Unclutter, clean and enhance: closets, under beds, cabinets, garages etc.

4. If you are feeling stressed there are certain shapes in your surroundings that you should avoid (such as in artwork or furniture shape). Triangles (including items in sets of three), pyramids, chevrons (not the gas station but avoiding those might reduce your stress as well), flame, and diamond shapes. These shapes 'poke' you into action rather than letting you relax. Try to replace with gentle curves.

5. Nourish your home the same way you would nourish your body. Use only items in your home that are beneficial to the health of the home. Avoid the 'junk food' of a home like unused or not needed items. Do not let toxins (or clutter) build up in your home. Keep your home healthy and happy and you will be healthy and happy.

6. Be mindful...Intuitive Living is about all aspects of your life, be mindful in what you say, what you eat, how you judge, and what you think. Make an adjustment when you are about to say something negative, have a negative thought, eat junk food, or judge someone. Take one day to truly listen to your thoughts and you may be surprised at how much negativity you are saying to yourself. Be aware.

7.  If you need a quick activation of one of the eight aspects (ba gua) you can place a fresh bouquet or even a single flower in the area that matches the color for that aspect. For example, if you want to enhance your relationships you can put a pink bouquet in your relationship area, or if you want to enhance your prosperity you can put a purple flower in that area. Just make sure you remove the flowers once they begin to wilt.
Enjoy.
