Dad always sits at the head of the table.....

Earlier i wrote about the power position. A fun experiment to do is to watch your coworkers, friends and family as they select their seats, either at your home, in a restaurant or at a meeting. Where they sit tells a lot about the person. A person who wants to be in control will always choose the seat that faces the door. If you want someone to feel vulnerable make sure they sit with their back to the door. Notice where YOU sit is very revealing as well. do you tend to sit where the rest of the table cannot make direct i contact? you may be shy or unsure of your status at the gathering. do you sit next the person 'in charge'? you are supportive. This diagram depicts a typical conference room meeting. Becoming aware of where you and others site provides a great deal of insight about yourself and your coworkers/friends/family.
