Be in Control

If you are in a position where you need to command control, either at the dinner table or at a company meeting, determine your command position and make sure you sit there.  the command position at a table is one that faces the door, has a view of everyone in the room, and is generally in the far right corner of the room.  It is not always necessarily at the head of the table, and never sit too close to the main door.  If you attend meetings where someone who is not the boss always seems to commandeer a meeting, notice where they are sitting.  Does it match the rules above?  Take note of the person who can't pay attention or seems fidgety and note where they are sitting.  Is it the opposite of the rules above?  At your next meeting, arrive early and take the seat of the person in command and see how it feels.  Are you empowered? Does it make the person you ousted nervous and confused? Have fun with this but never let on to the group what you are up to otherwise everyone will be trying to take command of the room and you know as well as i do that, that position belongs solely to you!
